C-Murder Biography

C-Murder was born Corey Miller in Baton Rouge, LA on March 9, 1971. He is the younger brother of rap mogul and owner/founder of No Limit Records, Master P. Since they started rapping, Master P always recognized his brother's talent. Of course, when Master P founded No Limit Records, this led to C-Murder being brought along.

C-Murder was one of the stronger rappers under the No Limit label, and one of the only ones who kept coming out with popular music while at the same time not "selling out". His rhymes were always influenced by the gangsta lifestyle, and C was true to what he spoke about.

C-Murder made his first appearance as a member of TRU, a group which featured C, Master P, and Silkk the Shocker. Their first album, True, was released in 1995 and was followed by Tru 2 Da Game in 1997. In 97, C-Murder made an appearance on numerous No Limit albums such as Master P's "Ghetto D" and the I'm Bout It soundtrack. In 1998, he released his first solo album, Life or Death. A year later, he released Bossaline. In the year 2000, C-Murder really gained a name for himself, first with his appearance in the 504 Boyz song "Wobble Wobble", then in his third album, Trapped in Crime. This album also kicked off the launch of TRU Records, C-Murder's own record label. In 2002, his CD "Tru Dawgs" was the firs talbum released on his label, but was stunted by the arrest of C-Murder after shooting a 16 year old in a night club in Harvey, Louisiana. He went to jail after the album was finished, and remained there. Master P stood behind his brother 100% and claimed that it was a case of mistaken identity. Despite this, C-Murder was convicted and sentenced to life in prison on October 1, 2003. While locked up, he managed to release an entire album, "The Truest Shit I Ever Said", and it's accompanying music video which features fellow New Orleans rapper B.G. without the knowledge of prison authorities, which angered Jefferson Parish Sheriff, Harvey Lee, greatly.
